Michigan Part one
Okay, let me just say- I had the probably the best week of my life up in Michigan. I got to spend the week with Cam and his family and we had so much fun. Whether we were playing mini golf, lying in bed at night watching Chopped, or *attempting* to tube or water skii, there was no lack of fun and excitement and happiness.
Cam and I flew into Detroit and then we drove up to Petoskey. The cottage(s) were settled on Walloon Lake and my room had the most gorgeous view. There were three small cottages on the property, and luckily Cam and I got the one with the kitchen so we had so much fun grocery shopping and cooking and playing Monopoly with friends on the dining room table.
On our first (and last) day in Petoskey we went mini golfing, and I definitely (didn't) even come close to Cam's score. Then we took the boat out to Barrel Back, a restaurant where we docked our boat and just ran in. The problem? I was already in the boat playing with his cousin's when everyone else piled in and when we got to the restaurant (which is quite nice) I realized I left my shoes back at the cottage dock. Needless to say it was an interesting experience.
Most of the beginning of the week was busy, while we were fitting in as much as we could. We boated, swam, ate, and had such a blast. I tried to completely disconnect for the week (mostly because I had no service) but I made time for the occasional instagram. It was so refreshing to get away and just truly be present. I spend so much time on my phone and computer that I feel like, a lot of the time, I take for granted the time I have with the people I love (like Cam)...especially since I leave in like 20 days!
Stay tuned for part 2 later this week...
