Exploring Ithaca {Ithaki}, Greece

We decided to spend our last day on the island in Ithaca, the neighboring island. We took a ferry boat from Skala, and it was so much fun island hopping. The boat brings you close to Ithaca on a very remote beach, and you get to choose whether to jump off the top or take a slide down into the ocean water. You can swim to shore and find beautiful shells, or swim around in the water near the boat. Then once  we got back onboard, we went to Vathy, the biggest town on the island. We spent an hour and a half there and walked into some small tourist shops for souvenirs, and then sipped on some drinks at a waterfront cafe until the boat was ready to leave. Our next stop was Kioni, and there we ate a delicious lunch. Kioni is a tiny sleepy town, and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. If you want a vacation where you sit around and do nothing and just relax- that is where you should go. While there, we bought some gorgeous evil eye pendants and beads for gifts, and got some ice cream before heading back to Kefalonia. Once we got close to Kefalonia, we stopped at another remote beach for one last swim, and then got dropped back at Skala.

Overall, it was a great experience. The boat was a little crowded, and got a little messy once everyone got back in from the ocean, but it was such a fun experience and I highly recommend it!
